| An injunction was imposed by a Texan court, on Microsoft's sale or import to the US of versions of Word which are capable of opening files containing XML. Microsoft was found to be infringing the 1998 patent ([ More... ]target='_blank'>5,787,449) on reading methods in XML documents. Microsoft must pay damages of $290m (£182m) to Toronto-based I4i. Microsoft is appealing, but has stated that its new Office 2010 does not have XML reading capability. [ Hide extra ] |
